A Blog About Culture

Recognition, Situation, Identity, Reality

My grandfather, Swayambhunath Shrestha, was a historian in Nepal who advocated for the sustainment of ethnic group cultures, including that of the Newars, of which my family is a part. Within the larger Newar group, the Shresthas are part of a clan known as Wonaw. Many of my family members are concerned with preserving the dying indigenous Newari language, architecture, and other values. This blog is named in honor of their efforts.
